Noon Meal Programme (NMP)
- In G.O.(Ms.) No.103, Social Welfare and Noon Meal Scheme (NM 4-1) Dept, Dated: 23.06.2020, the Government of Tamil Nadu issued orders appointing ‘Social Audit Society of Tamil Nadu’ as a ‘Nodal Agency’ for conducting Social Audit of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Nutritious Meal Programme.
- As directed, Pilot Social Audit have been conducted in the 5 Nutritious Meal Programme Centres during the period from 15.11.2021 to 19.11.2021.
- The Department of Social Welfare has released an amount of Rs.1,08,97,000/- for conducting Social Audit in 954 Noon Meal Centres and Social Audit has been completed in 954 Noon meal centers in the Financial Year 2024-25.

- The Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment requested that Social Audit be conducted in 957 Noon Meal Centres on 30.09.2025, for the year 2025-26 (Expenditure year 2024-25).
- Statewide training for resource persons was conducted at SIRD, Maraimalai Nagar on 13.12.2025. District/Block level training for Social Audit Facilitation Team (SAFT) members was conducted on 20.12.2025.
- A Social Audit Calendar for the Audit of the Noon Meal Programme was prepared and communicated to all Districts. Social Audit was conducted in three rounds from 05.01.2026 to 31.01.2026.
- The Department of Social Welfare released an amount of Rs.1,12,97,412/- for conducting Social Audit in 957 Noon Meal Centres. Social Audit has been completed in 957 Noon Meal Centres in the Financial Year 2025-26.
