• The Government in G.O.(Ms). No.43, RD & PR (CGS.1) Dept., Dated: 07.03.2024 issued orders nominating Social Audit Society of Tamil Nadu as Nodal Agency for the conduct of Social Audit on the utilization of the 15^th Central Finance Commission Grants.
• The Government has also allocated a sum of Rs.6.89 crore.
• It is proposed to conduct Social Audit of 15^th Central Finance Commission Grants during the financial year 2024-25 (for the expenditure year 2021-22) in all the 12525 village panchayats of Tamil Nadu after receipt of funds from Rural Development Department.

Social Audit of National Social Assistance Programme - NSAP

• The Government of India have issued Guidelines for conducting Social Audit under NSAP on 03.02.2024 for the following schemes: -
  • Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension scheme (IGNOAPS)
  • Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS)
  • Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS)
  • Destitute Widow Pension Scheme (DWP)
  • Destitute /Deserted Wives Pension Scheme (DDWPS)
  • Pension to poor Unmarried incapacitated Women of age 50 years and above (UWP)
  • Destitute Agricultural labourer Pension Scheme (DAPS)
  • The Commissioner of Revenue Administration has been requested to designate SASTA as the Nodal Agency.
